Why should I use FixMyCrack for a repair?

Your smartphone or device is precious to you. FixMyCrack technicians are highly experienced and skilled at repairs. They are fully trained with all the latest techniques and equipment to tackle any problems you can throw at them! Who knows better what students need, than students themselves? We are founded, managed, and run by students and recent graduates. We offer an affordable, trustworthy option between low-price dodgy shops, and overpriced high-end shops. We think we’re great, and so does the University of Bristol! We won funding and general bragging rights from the New Enterprise Competition 2020 which supports new and great ideas! Because we don’t have a shopfront to have to pay for, we can keep our costs low without compromising on quality. All of our parts are UK sourced and come with a no-questions-asked six-month warranty!

How long does a repair take?

We pride ourselves on an express repair service. Common devices can be repaired within an hour. If you have a less-common device, we can order the needed parts overnight, and get your phone back to you in 48-72 hours. We can often provide a loaner for you to use in the meantime.

Does my phone repair come with a warranty?

There is a six-month warranty on device repairs. Inherent defects with the parts installed will be covered under the warranty.  Accidental and liquid damage caused by you will not be covered.

Can a technician visit my home?

Absolutely!  During Covid restrictions, Our technicians will collect your phone or device from your home, take it away to repair it, and carry it back to you. We use bicycles and scooters, the greener transportation options!   Once Covid restrictions relax, the technician can visit you in your home or meet you on campus and fix the phone on the spot.  You will still be able to ask for a collect-and-return option!

Is my data safe?

It is very rare for the data on your device to be affected through our repairs, however, it can happen! We recommend you make a backup of your device before giving it to us. Of course, if there are any issues we won’t rest until your problems are solved.

What’s with the disclaimer I signed?

Good question! We don’t like scary looking contracts any more than anyone does. The contract is for our protection so we can’t have our services abused by anyone with malicious intent. If there are any problems with your phone, our absolute priority is to make sure your experience is a good one and we will go to the ends of the earth to make that the case!

If I use FixMyCrack will this void my manufacturer’s warranty?

Like most third-party repair services, use of our service can void your manufacturer’s warranty. The good news is we provide our own warranty for all our repairs!

I only have a small crack on my screen. Do I need a full-screen replacement?

Yes, we do a full-screen replacement regardless of the size of the crack in your screen.

Is FixMyCrack an Apple authorised supplier?

FixMyCrack is an alternative repair service to Apple, Samsung and their subsidiary suppliers. We are an express service that utilises the highest quality parts that are quality controlled.

Are FixMyCrack screens original Apple / Samsung parts?

Although we are an alternative repair service to Apple, we use the best available compatible screen/parts. Our parts are also QC tested to ensure durability and safety. Our Samsung and Google parts are OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). This means that they are made by the same companies that also supply the same parts to Samsung and Google/Android, for use in their phones.

Why does FixMyCrack ask for my PIN or ID before repair?

Providing your pin/passcode before the repair is completely up to you!  We advise everyone to provide this information as our technicians need to verify that the device is in full working order before you collect it!  Devices undergo a series of tests that include touch sensitivity and camera. At no time would we access your personal information or intrude on your privacy.
